Richard “Dick” Dean Selleck, 83, died on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, following complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
Dick was born on March 14, 1934, in Columbus to Helen Krumland and Richard Selleck. Dick graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus in 1952 and shortly after joined the U.S. Navy where he served in the Korean War.
Following his return from the Navy, Richard married Sandra (Peterson) Selleck on March 16, 1957. They later divorced. Richard spent his career with the United States Bureau of Reclamation and later with the Corp of Engineers and retired in 1989.
He loved the outdoors and spent many hours in Grand Lake, Colorado, ice fishing.
Richard is survived by his children Richard Scott Selleck of Loveland, Colorado, Susan Selleck Schmitz of Los Angeles, California, and Julie Selleck White of Fort Collins, Colorado. He is also survived by granddaughters Jessica Irons (Austin Holder) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jenna Boley and Lauren Boley, both of Fort Collins, Colorado; and sisters Donna Smith of Bountiful, Utah, and Pat Hoshor of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carolee Bredehoft and son-in-law Brad White.
Cremation has been completed.
