Richard A. Nauenburg

Richard A. Nauenburg, 68, of St. Edward, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at his home in St. Edward.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, at United Methodist Church in St. Edward, with The Rev. Vernon Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, rural St. Edward. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 at the church.
Richard Alan Nauenburg, the son of Otto Frank and Ruth Frances (Nicklasson) Nauenburg, was born on Jan. 4, 1952, in Columbus. He attended elementary school at Woodville District 59 and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1970. Following school, Richard began his life as a farmer. He enjoyed feeding livestock and raising crops.

On June 28, 1980, Richard married Tami Niemann. To this union Derek was born. They lived and farmed near St. Edward.
Richard was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, and the St. Edward Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years, 18 of them he was an EMT. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson trike.
Richard is survived by his son, Derek and wife, Jennifer; grandson, Kelby Nauenburg all of St. Edward; sister, Patricia Baker of Rochester, New York; three brothers: Wesley (Kathy) Lyons of Omaha, Dale (Val) Nauenburg of O'Neill and Jerry Nauenburg of Seward; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and MANY, MANY friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jim Baker; and nephew, Kurt Lyons.
