Vernon Dale Collinsworth

January 19, 1944 – September 29, 2019

Vernon ‘Dale' Collinsworth, born Jan. 19, 1944, son of Elda Glenn and Florence Frampton Collinsworth, Ravenwood, Missouri, passed away at home, Henderson, Nevada, on Sept. 29, 2019. He was a graduate of Northeast Nodaway R5 High School, Ravenwood, Missouri, and Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri.

Dale married Judith Marie Holmes, daughter of Harold and Evonne Medsker Holmes, Graham, Missouri, in 1965. Dale taught Accounting and Business Law at Postville High School, Postville, Iowa, for 10 years. He was in Chamber of Commerce work for many years serving as CEO for the Chambers in Grinnell, Iowa; Marshall, Minnesota; Columbus, Nebraska, and Waterloo, Iowa. Dale worked in Franchise Support for PostNet and in customer service for CarMax in Henderson, Nevada.

Dale served as president to the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce Executives, president of the Columbus Area Rotary Club, the president of the Columbus Area United Way and president of the congregation of Federated Church in Columbus, Nebraska. Among his awards, Dale received the Paul Harris Fellow from the Rotary International and received an honorary award of Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.

Dale is survived by his wife, Judith; son Michael Dale; daughter-in-law Sheila; and granddaughter Sadie of Las Vegas; his sister, Donna Sue Nelson (David) of Ravenwood, Missouri and their family.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7 at the family home, 126 Brian Drive, Henderson, NV 89074 with Pastor Paul Carter, Chaplain with Affectionate Care Hospice officiating.
