Weston Nicolas, 23 months old, of Bellwood, Nebraska, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, in Columbus.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, at Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Cory Burma and the Rev. Michael Klatt officiating. Interment will be in the Blahak Family Cemetery west of Bellwood, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Gass Haney Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggest to the family.

Weston Nicolas was born Aug. 25, 2017, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Chris and Trisha (Gunderson) Nicolas. He was baptized into God's family on Dec. 9, 2017. Weston loved playing with his older brothers and sister. Being almost two years of age, he was the family entertainment. He loved being on the farm. Weston enjoyed being old enough to go down front at church for the “children's message” with his brothers and sister.
Weston is survived by his parents, Chris and Trisha Nicolas of Bellwood, Nebraska; siblings Micah, Sadie, Colson and Sawyer; grandparents David and Marilyn Nicolas of Bellwood, Nebraska, grandparents, Lowell and Judy Gunderson of Columbus, Nebraska; great-grandmother, Faye Osborn of David City, Nebraska; aunts and uncles Ryan (Pam) Helgoth of David City, Nebraska, Dan (Jaime) Pachta of Aurora, Nebraska, Tyler (Katie) Behrns of Yankton, South Dakota (also Weston's Godparents), Tom (Stacy) Gunderson of Aqua Dulce, California, Tim (Stacey) Gunderson of Davey, Nebraska, Troy Gunderson of Aqua Dulce, California, Russell (Tiffany) Blades of Moorpark, California; godparents Corey and Natalie Rieck of Columbus, Nebraska; and numerous cousins.
Weston was preceded in death by cousin Nicolas Daniel Pachta; aunt Jennifer Gunderson; and great-grandparents Pete and Elma Nicolas, Fred Osborn, Carlisle and Alice Gunderson, and Leroy and Phyllis Pearson
