Jeanne Raimondo, 79, of Columbus, and Lakewood Ranch, Florida, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at Bryan LGH East Campus in Lincoln.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Swanton celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, with a 7 p.m. vigil service, both at Gass Haney Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Memorial donations appropriated to either St. Bonaventure Church Project 2020 (expansion & upgrade) or Columbus High School STEM Academy.
Jeanne Raimondo was born June 26, 1940, in Buffalo, New York, to Matthew and Marion (Osborne) English. She graduated from Mount Mercy Girls Catholic High School in 1958. Jeanne met Tony Raimondo while attending a dance at his high school – South Park High. They dated as high school sweethearts until their wedding on Aug. 27, 1960.
Jeanne worked as an AT&T switchboard operator in Houghton, Michigan (in the Upper Peninsula), as Tony pursued his mechanical engineering degree. After Tony completed college, they returned to Buffalo and had four wonderful children: Philip, Tony Jr., Linda, and Diana. In 1976, the family moved to Omaha, and in 1982 moved to Columbus. Today the Raimondo family owns Behlen Manufacturing Company, a key company in Columbus. They are committed to growing the company and supporting the Columbus community.
Jeanne was active in investment club, Bunco, tennis, Columbus Women's Club, and held various accounting related roles. She was a proponent of life-long learning and earned a bachelor's degree at age 60! Jeanne had uncompromising core values, a strong spiritual foundation, and enjoyed traveling around the world. Family, faith, and love were of utmost importance to Jeanne.
Jeanne was the beloved wife of Anthony F. Raimondo for nearly 59 years; devoted mother of Philip M. Raimondo (Mary), Anthony F. Raimondo Jr. (Sharon), and Linda C. Myers-Bock (Tom) all of Columbus; and Diana J. Raimondo (fiancée Joshua Porter) of Tinley Park, Illinois; loving grandmother of Rachel Hays (Brandon), Matthew Raimondo (Kayla), Nicholas Raimondo (fiancée Katy), Patrick Raimondo (Kayla), Natalie Raimondo, Kellen Raimondo, Leo Raimondo, Tanner Bock (Lily), Tayler Bock, Cody Myers (Robyn), Paxton Myers, Nahom Montalto, Zoey Porter, as well as the late Luca and late Santino Montalto. Jeanne was the proud great-grandmother of Henry and Emma Hays, and sister-in-law to Rita English of Buffalo, New York.
Jeanne also dearly loved her precious nieces and nephews: Mary English Lloyd (Juan), Rick English (Sadie), the late Jimmy English (Mari), Michael English (Patti), Kevin English (Ann), Patrick English (Noreen), Matthew English (Nora), Brian English (Rhonda), Tommy English (Kate), Billy English, Chris English, Robin Hughes (Jeff).
Jeanne joined her brothers in heaven: Richard (Dick), James (Jim), Thomas (Tom), and William (Bill) as well as her parents, Marion Osborne-English and Matthew English.
