Area students attend Central Honors Institute
Eighty-two students participated in the Central Honors Institute July 7-11 at Central Community College-Columbus.
Participants will be in the seventh or eighth grade this fall and have a high ability in language arts, math and/or science. They were selected on the basis of their academic accomplishments, leadership skills and maturity as well as a recommendation from a teacher or counselor. Participants included the following area students:

Strain receives scholarship
Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) has announced that its employee, Ashley Strain, is a recipient of a 2019 Nebraska Hospital Association Research and Educational Foundation (NHAREF) Undergraduate Health Care Career Scholarship.
The NHAREF offers this scholarship to students interested in a career in health care. Scholarship applicants must have been employed by an NHA member hospital for at least one year and be enrolled in an accredited program leading to a bachelor’s degree, certification or registration in a health care career.
Strain is one of ten recipients who were selected to receive $1,500 for the academic year, which will be sent directly to her educational institution.
