To the editor:
Earlier this month, Quail Run Golf Course hosted the Class B Girls Golf Championships. The NSAA awarded this tournament to Quail Run last November and also awarded the Class B Boys Golf Championship to Quail earlier this past summer.
Columbus was selected to host both of these championships for the next three years due to the efforts of Al Niedbalski, Deb Loseke and Doug Dunbar. In making the bid for these events, these folks were able to showcase the dozens of people that volunteer their time to make sure that this tournament runs smoothly and also show that Quail Run is a great course.
I want to thank the organizers of this event, the staff at Quail Run as well as the army of volunteers. These people are great ambassadors of the City of Columbus, despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions. It was refreshing to see people with positive attitudes making sure that things went well for the participants and spectators. I heard a lot of positive comments both days. Columbus has a lot to be proud of.
