The Central Community College men’s soccer team defeated York College JV, 4-1, on Monday in York.

Central's Jorge Moncibais found the back of the net in the 42nd minute to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. That came courtesy of a pass from Luis Ruiz.

Moncibais set up a goal 10 minutes into the second half when he found Hamilson Vincente, who scored on the play giving Central a 2-0 lead.

In the 65th minute, Central's Nikola Ilic scored his first goal of the season off of a Kyle Thomas assist for the 3-0 lead.

Ruiz shot the final Raider goal of the game when he scored in the 78th minute to give Central a 4-0 lead.

York College JV scored on goal in the 89th minute to narrow the lead to 4-1.

Central goalies Joao Victor and Chris Adame combined for five saves on the day.

“It was great to have some new players step up and play well for the team, and to get more offensive production out of a variety of guys,” said CCC head coach Hawken Hanna in a press release from Central. “Overall, it was another solid team win as we prepare for a competitive Region IX weekend coming up on Friday and Saturday.”

With the win, the Raiders are now 5-1-1 on the 2019 season.

The Raiders will return to action at 2 p.m. on Friday against Northwest College at home.
