Overnight casino trip planned

The Colfax County Senior Center in Schuyler is planning a two-day holiday bus trip fundraiser Dec. 4-5.

Cost is $65 per person double occupancy or $75 single occupancy, with reservations and payments due by Nov. 17. The first night will be at WinnaVegas, with Day 2 at the Blackbird Casino. There will be many perks at both casinos, vouchers, points and specials on food.

Christmas events at St. Benedict

St. Benedict Center will host a Christmas craft show from Nov. 26 to Dec. 10.

Hours are 2 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A large variety of crafts and gifts made by area artists will be on sale. The book and gift store will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays.

The Teens of Divine Mercy Parish will present a play for the whole family in several acts related to the Christmas message. Two indoor shows will be performed at 5 and 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at St. Benedict Center. There will be hot chocolate, cider, coffee and homemade Christmas cookies following each show. Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for children.

The public is invited to St. Benedict Center to view Nativity scenes from around the world, including the Holy Land, Africa, Asia, South America, North America and Europe. The Nativity display will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 26–Dec. 17 and Jan. 2–5. There is no admission fee.
