This week's featured league is the Sunday Nite Mixed from Boulevard Lanes. Gail Henke, league secretary, says they have 12 teams that bowl 34 weeks.
The league is divided into two halves, with the winner of each half meeting in the finals. McGutters has reserved their spot in the finals by winning the first half. Team members include Lisa McFarland, Greg Hall, Shane McFarland, Amber Stary, Kevin Stary and Kristel Hall.
At the start of league play (March 3), Suckless sat in first place with a 30-10 record. Team members include Tonya Huhman, Kayla Korger, Adam Korger, Jeff Huhman, Bonnie Lindahl, Marc Lindahl and Craig Spohn.
With only six weeks left in the season, the defending champions are 11 games out of first. Mo Raitt, Michael Renze, Willy Avila and Lisa Rice bowl for the defending champs, the Brooklyn Strikers.
The high team game and series belongs to Suckless with a 821 and a 2294. On the individual side for the ladies, Jane Moore has the high game with a 257. Lisa McFarland holds the high series with a 628. The high average for the ladies also belongs to Moore with a 177.
For the men, Brent Fiala’s 278 is the high game. The high series and high average belong to Brady Vancura with a 711 and a 191. To be eligible for the high average, one must have bowled half of the leagues games.
Following league play last week, the McGutters shot both the high team game and series with a 746 and a 2059. Lowell Brock and Bob Frauendorfer tied for the men’s high game of 223. Frauendorfer was 54 pins over his average, while Brock was 52 pins above his. Phillip Parker had the high series for the guys with a 591(+102). McFarland led the ladies with a 224(+70) game and a 503 series.
There were a few others who had nice nights. Five bowlers rolled games that were at least 30 pins above their average. Robyn Fiala had a 179(+43), Parker rolled a 202 (+39), Avila shot a 200 (+37), Mikaela Classen’s 147 (+37), and finally, Ann Fuhr had a 172 (+35). Nice bowling to one and all.
Weekly leaders at Westbrook Lanes included Mike Becker rolling a 287 for the men's high and Joey Irwin putting together the top series of 779. Shawna Woosley led the ladies for the week with a 239 game and a 653 series.
Gary Muth rolled the top men’s scores for the week with a 792 series on scores of 267-290-235, with his 290 the high game for the week at Boulevard. Dawn Johnson and Khara Lyon led the ladies for the past week. Johnson had a 268 game, while Lyon had a 632 series.
