Central Community College - Columbus softball held off a late rally by North Platte Community College on Sunday at home to win 4-3 and advance to the Regional Championship on Friday.
The Raiders split games with the Knights on Saturday which took the series to a deciding game on Sunday.
The Knights got off to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but Taylor Griffith hit a triple in the bottom of the inning and scored on a wild pitch to even the game at 1-1.
Both defenses held the opponent colorless in the second before Central took the lead in the third with a Shelby Gerloff RBI single for a 2-1 lead.
The Raiders stretched their lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth when Alyssa Dockerty came in on an RBI single from Sydney Breinig.
Morgan Pinkelman accounted for the fourth and final Central run, leading off the sixth with a hit, advancing to second on a sac bunt by Taylor Griffth then scored on a single from Shelby Gerloff.
The Knights scored two in their final at bat with two walks and two singles but left the bases loaded on a groundout to end the game.
Central will now face Southeast Community College on Friday in a best-of-three series for the regional championship and a spot in the District F Championship.
In Saturday's opening games of the seires, the Raiders won the first game 6-5 and lost 10-0 in the second.
Region IX Golf Tournament (via head coach Britt Blackwell)
The Central Community College golf team finished second behind Southeast Community College in the Region IX golf tournament at the York County Club on May 1 and 2.
Ethan Paben was CCC's top golfer as he carded a 238 in three rounds earning him a fifth-place individual finish and a medal. Carter Luedtke was the Raiders' second-place golfer with a 243.
The two-day tournament concluded CCC's 2018-19 season.
