After two weeks of one of the most quite times I've seen, the bite is on again along with those pesky mosquitoes.

Bluegill, one of my favorites are fattening up. Meritt Davis Creek and Calamus for Walleye are some of the hot spots. Lake North, the turbid water, is holding the walleyes.

Hayden Hacker landed a 15-pound channel cat using corn at a local sandpit. This cat was very dark colored which means it came out of a lake and is a male on spawn.

Travis Stutzman netted a 20-pound buffalo carp using walleye at Lake North.

Now something exciting. The first annual Nebraska Mud Cats Association is Aug. 17 and 18. Check in starts at 4 p.m. Weigh in will e 10 a.m.

Five live fish weigh in per team. Teams allowed to fish from Monroe Power House to Lake North.

Boats only allowed in Lake North. No set line, period.
