Lakeview girls faced the challenge of slowing down Whitney Brown and Class B No. 5 Grand Island Northwest on Friday night at home.

Brown, who's scored double digits in every game this year and is averaging 17.6 per contest, kept rolling with 25 points as she and Northwest downed Lakeview by a final of 62-43.

She hit on 9 of 17, Northwest shot 46 percent for the game and hit eight 3-pointers. 

Lakeview (4-7) got 23 points from junior Reese Janssen, but no other player scored more than six points. 

Northwest had two other players besides Brown finish in double digits,  grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and earned 15 more free throws. 

Lakeview trailed 13-9 after the first quarter and 32-20 at halftime. 

GINW extended its lead to 48-33 entering the fourth and outscored Lakeview 14-10 in the final eight minutes. 

Maddi Vogt scored six for Lakeivew, Katee Korte and Lilly Row added four each and Cassie Rathbone finished with two. 

Vogt also dished out a team-high three assists and Rowe grabbed a team-high eight assists. 

Lakeview is in action next at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday at home against Pierce (5-4).
