Lincoln Journal Star C-1 preseason No. 7 North Bend caught fire from deep in the third quarter and ran away with a 62-42 win over the Twin River Boys on Thursday in Genoa.

The Tigers hit 11 3-pointers on the night and sank five of those in the third quarter, turning a 22-19 halftime advantage into a 47-31 gap by the start of the fourth quarter.

Brodey Johnson was particularly deadly for North Bend, with seven makes from beyond the arc and 23 points. Four different Tigers hit 3s while the Titans managed just one make from downtown. Ross Hebda led the Titans with 15 points while Carter Frenzen had eight.

"They went crazy hot from the 3-point line. Very athletic team," coach Tod Heier said. "We did some good things, but will  need to improve to play four quarters against teams of this caliber."

Twin River returned to the court Saturday against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. Pick up Tuesday's Telegram for details on the game.
