RANDOLPH — Randolph took care of business on its home court Saturday to end Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family's six-game winning streak.

The Cardinals (5-3) outscored the Bulldogs 21-9 in the fourth quarter to get the 50-40 win in the championship game of the Randolph Holiday Tournament.

H/LHF (7-3) led 22-19 after a high-scoring first quarter then the teams combined for just 19 points over the next two periods before Randolph's strong fourth quarter.

Ashton Dohmen led the Bulldogs with 13 points, but he was just 5 for 16 from the field and 2 of 11 on 3-pointers.

H/LHF shot 16 for 47 (34 percent) as a team, including 5 of 23 from beyond the arc, and went 3 of 7 at the free-throw line.

Bret Hanis added 12 points for the Bulldogs, who play Friday at Class D-2, No. 1 Riverside.

Plainview 54

RANDOLPH — Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family survived a surprise test from Plainview (3-5) to reach the championship game of the Randolph Holiday Tournament.

The Bulldogs, 7-2 and a ratings contender in Class D-1, built a 33-24 lead at halftime Friday then held onto that margin in the 63-54 win.

Ashton Dohmen scored a team-high 28 points for H/LHF on 11-for-16 shooting, including two of the team's four 3-pointers. Bret Hanis added nine points and Ethan Hanzel scored eight.

H/LHF shot an efficient 25 for 48 from the field and 9 of 12 at the free-throw line.

St. Francis 63,

Louisville 46

LINCOLN — Humphrey St. Francis rebounded from Friday's 45-33 loss to Nebraska Christian to take down Class C-1 Louisville in the third-place game of the Nebraska Wesleyan Holiday Tournament.

The two teams traded monster quarters in the first half Saturday before the Flyers took control in the final two periods.

St. Francis (6-4), ranked eighth in Class D-2, led 25-8 after the opening quarter before the Lions responded with a 24-point second quarter to pull within 37-32 at halftime. The Flyers held Louisville (4-4) to just seven points in each of the final two quarters to get the win.

Trevor Pfeifer poured in 24 points for St. Francis to lead all scorers and grabbed four steals. Riley Jarosz added 12 points, Taylor Wemhoff had seven points and five assists and Jarrett Weidner chipped in six points, six rebounds and five steals.

Hunter Klein had a team-best 21 points for Louisville.

St. Francis hosts Howells-Dodge on Friday.

DC West 72,

David City 61

DAVID CITY — David City had plenty of offense in Saturday's game against Douglas County West, but the Scouts couldn't slow down the Falcons on the other end.

Will Danielson scored 21 points and Luis Salazar added 16 for David City, which fell 72-61 in the consolation game of the David City Holiday Tournament.

The Scouts, who also got 10 points from Josh Seibert, led 19-17 after the first quarter before DC West jumped in front. David City trailed 35-30 at halftime and 54-49 after three quarters.

Carson Koubicek and Spencer Hayes scored 15 points apiece for DC West (5-5) and Max Johnson finished with 13.

The Scouts (2-6), who have lost five straight games, play Friday at Twin River.

Sutton 63,

David City 48

DAVID CITY — Sutton sent the Scouts to the consolation game of the David City Holiday Tournament with a 63-48 win Friday.

The Mustangs, led by Seth George's game-high 23 points, built a 31-21 halftime lead and 50-37 advantage after three quarters. Garrett Nuss added nine points for Sutton (4-2) and Sam Nuss and Nathan Hohensee scored eight each.

Luis Salazar poured in 17 points to pace David City, which also got 13 points from Nick Ruth.

Central City 53,

Cross County 38

FAIRFIELD — Cross County couldn't find its shooting stroke Saturday in a 53-38 loss to Central City in the Sandy Creek Holiday Tournament.

The Cougars, who trailed 29-14 at halftime and 36-26 after three quarters, were just 14 for 41 (34 percent) from the field, including 3 of 12 on 3-pointers.

Cross County also turned the ball over 18 times compared to just six for Central City, which shot 19 for 42 from the floor and 13 of 20 at the free-throw line. The Cougars were 7 of 13 at the line.

Central City's Trent Wilson led all scorers with 27 points and Ethan Deboer added 12 points for the Bison (3-6).

Colton Beebe paced Cross County with 21 points, including all three of the team's 3-pointers, while adding nine rebounds, two assists and a block.

The Cougars (4-4) host Osceola on Tuesday.

Arcadia/Loup City 40,

Shelby-Rising City 35

SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City let its upset bid slip away Friday in the championship game of the Shelby Holiday Tournament.

The Huskies led 20-17 at halftime and 30-29 entering the fourth quarter before Class C-2, No. 7 Arcadia/Loup City won the final eight minutes to escape with a 40-35 win.

Austin Coffin knocked down four 3-pointers scored a game-high 13 points for S-RC (3-5). Teammate Bailey Belt hit two treys and finished with 12 points.

Tige Calleroz scored 11 points to lead Arcadia/Loup City (8-0).

It was a defensive contest throughout as the Huskies limited Arcadia/Loup City to 14-for-41 shooting (34 percent) while hitting just 12 of 42 attempts (28 percent) on the offensive end.

The Huskies play Friday at Class D-2, No. 5 Exeter-Milligan.

Friend 49,

Clarkson/Leigh 33

SHELBY — Friend took down Clarkson/Leigh 49-33 in Friday's consolation game of the Shelby Holiday Tournament.

The Bulldogs (4-6) trailed 23-20 at halftime before taking over in the second half. They outscored Clarkson/Leigh 16-5 in the third quarter and 13-5 in the fourth.

Garrett Schroeder led the Patriots with 15 points and Anthony Bruhn added eight.

Clarkson/Leigh (0-10) hosts Tekamah-Herman on Saturday.
