AQUINAS -- Allison Weidner and Logan Wemhoff led Class D-2 No. 2 Humphrey St. Francis to a 68-62 road victory over David City Aquinas on Tuesday.

Weidner scored 23 points, handed out 13 assists and had six steals while Wemhoff, a Telegram Super Senior, finished with 21 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Bridget McPhillips and Tara Foltz added 10 points apiece.

The Flyers (20-2) led 20-15 after the first quarter and 40-33 at halftime. Aquinas (9-12) clamped down on defense in the third quarter and only allowed 10 points, but couldn’t make up much ground as the Monarchs still trailed 50-45 going into the final period.

Breanna Stouffer scored 21 points to lead Aquinas and Jadyn Krafka chipped in 13 points.

St. Francis closes out the regular season on Friday with a home game against Elkhorn Valley. Aquinas hosts Centennial that day in its regular-season finale.

Fullerton 66,

St. Edward 17

ST. EDWARD -- St. Edward had a solid first quarter. Nothing after that in a 66-17 home loss to Fullerton on Tuesday.

The Beavers trailed 16-11 after the first quarter, but scored just six points the rest of the game. Fullerton (9-11) led 38-14 at halftime and 56-14 after three quarters.

Lacie Cruise and Miranda Matchett both scored five points for St. Edward (1-17).

St. Edward plays at Hampton on Thursday.

High Plains 47,

Osceola 33

OSCEOLA -- High Plains pitched a first-quarter shutout and that’s all it needed to get a 47-33 road win over Osceola.

The Storm (6-13) led 17-0 at the end of the first period. Osceola (0-19) tried to fight back the rest of the way, but could never close the gap. It was 31-14 at halftime and 35-21 after three quarters.

Madie Young scored a game-high 19 points for High Plains while Ginni Johansen led the Bulldogs with 17 points.

Osceola plays at Heartland on Thursday and High Plains is at Class D-1, No. 1 Bruning-Davenport/Shickley on Friday.
