ALBION — Lakeview's Gracie Borer didn't seem to mind the chilly conditions Saturday at Albion Country Club.

She fired a 91 over 18 holes to win the individual title at the Boone Central Invite, edging Battle Creek's Kenzie Jensen by two strokes.

Shelby-Rising City had three individual medal winners on its way to the team title.

Brenna Houdersheldt led the group with a round of 97, good for fourth place. Monica Hinkle carded a 104 to finish 10th and Rylee Branting was 13th after shooting a 107 and winning a three-way tiebreaker.

Sydney Ziemba's 114 gave the Huskies a 422 team score, one stroke better than second-place Scotus Central Catholic.

Kalli Kilgore had a 122 for Shelby-Rising City's alternate score.

The Huskies and Shamrocks distanced themselves from the rest of the field at the 10-team event, as third-place Oakland-Craig finished 34 strokes back of Scotus with a 457.

Scotus also had three individual medalists at the event, as well as two golfers who just missed placing.

Kaitlyn Enderlin shot a 103 to take ninth place for Scotus, Hannah Allen was 12th with a 105 and Makenzie Enderlin finished in 15th with a 107.

Scotus' Kendra Wiese and Emily Carstens occupied the first two spots outside medal position with rounds of 108 and 110, respectively.

Abby Brodersen led Boone Central/Newman Grove to a fifth-place finish at its home event. She carded a 97 and lost a three-way tiebreaker with Houdersheldt and Lakeview's Olivia Engel to come in sixth individually.

Maggie Cleveland and Ashley Mewhirter both shot 116 for the Cardinals, who recorded a 473 team score. Lauren Kohtz had a round of 144 for BC/NG and Lilly Reel's 150 was the team's alternate score.

Lakeview only had three golfers play in the invite, taking the Vikings out of the team race.

In addition to Borer's victory and Engel's fifth-place finish, Ella Meyer shot a 166 for Lakeview.

Stanton and Wayne also played shorthanded.

Scotus and Lakeview are both back on the course Tuesday, when the Shamrocks travel to the Fullerton Invite and the Vikings host Stanton for a dual at Quail Run Golf Course.
