A late-season bout of winter weather expected on Thursday has caused several changes to the local athletic calendar for area teams.

Six city teams were set to be in action on Thursday. Nearly all of those have already been cancelled or postponed.

The Central Community College-Columbus men's golf triangular with Midland junior varsity and Union College junior varsity at Elks Country Club has been moved to next week, April 18.

The Central Conference soccer tournament that was set to begin the first round at various sites on Thursday has been canceled. That means the Lakeview girls will not host York and the boys will not travel to face Grand Island Northwest.

The Lakeview boys will also not be traveling to Hastings for a golf invite at Southern Hills Golf Course. That event has been moved to Monday.

Columbus High girls tennis at Kearney was moved to Wednesday. Columbus High golf at Hastings has been postponed but no makeup date has yet been announced.

The Scotus boys are scheduled for a tournament in Omaha. As of Wednesday evening at 9:30, the event was still a go.
