The Lakeview Vikings High volleyball team went undefeated in the triangular on Thursday, not dropping a single set on the evening.
In its first game, Lakeview defeated Central City in two sets, 25-16 and 25-16. In its second game, it defeated Aurora 25-18 and 25-14.
Kaycee Groteluesch and Reese Janssen had two aces on the evening to lead the team, Abby Kapels had 16 kills to lead the Viking.
The next action for Lakeview (7-3) is Tuesday when it hosts a triangular with Boone Central/Newman Groove and Nebraska Christian.
Lakeview head coach K.C. Belitz said he thought his team played well across the board.
"I think both matches we played pretty solid in every phase of the game," he said. "We didn't miss too many serves, didn't give up too many aces, didn't make too many hitting errors, didn't give up too many blocks. We were just solid throughout and that's a good place to be as a volleyball team.
"If you can avoid making too many errors then you're going to be able to put pressure on the opponent, sometimes they will make some errors for you. I feel like that is probably what we did better than both Aurora and Central City tonight. We were just pretty solid."
Belitz said he feels like his team in building momentum going into a tough part of the schedule.
"This is kind of an important time here as we go into next week," he said. "We have a triangular, and then we're going to go back to Aurora for their tournament, which is a pretty good field this year, and then you have the Scotus match and the Columbus tournament. You're really getting into the heart of the season here in the next two weeks or so. That's exactly what I talk to the girls about.
"I thought tonight was maybe an opportunity to build some momentum. You have to earn confidence. You can say it all you want, but it's pretty hard to be confident until you see yourself play well. We're now 7-1 our last 8 matches. I think you hope out of that you are building some momentum as you get into the heart of the season."
