SCHUYLER — On paper, Schuyler had the advantage against Scotus Central Catholic with five wrestlers rated in Class B.

On the mat, four of those ranked wrestlers picked up six-point victories Tuesday as the Warriors won 51-21 in a home dual.

Schuyler claimed wins in 10 of the 14 matches, including forfeits against fourth-ranked Jesus Maganda at 220 pounds and fifth-ranked Michael Hernandez at 170 pounds.

Third-ranked Ernesto Chacon pinned Jake Heesacker in 3 minutes, 52 seconds at 113 pounds and Caleb Novak, ranked sixth at 182 pounds, won by pin in 1:01 against Kade Wiese for Schuyler victories.

The Warriors' fifth ranked wrestler, No. 5 Isaac Hernandez, was a 9-5 winner over Evan Sliva at 160 pounds.

Schuyler, which led 24-3 after six matches, also got pins from Caden Yrkoski at 152 pounds, Denilson Martinez at 120 pounds and Kenneth Castro at 126 pounds.

Miguel Roman beat Scotus' Jackson Neville 8-1 to open the dual at 138 pounds before Colby Gilson answered with an 8-6 victory over Miguel Carrasco for the Shamrocks.

Yrkoski, Isaac Hernandez, Michael Hernandez and Novak were all six-point winners before 195-pounder Wren Allen stopped the Schuyler streak by pinning Rosel Diaz in 4:48.

Heavyweight Landon Sokol pinned Angel Rojo in 4:40 and 132-pounder Calen Hinze won by fall in 2:52 against Edgar Cruz for the other Scotus wins.

Schuyler's John Gasper beat Daniel Tworek 6-2 at 106 pounds.

Both teams return to the mat Friday and Saturday for the High Plains Invite at Central Community College.

Malcolm 15

DAVID CITY — Telegram Super Seniors Seth Styskal and Melvin Hernandez didn't wrestle Tuesday night for David City, but that didn't impact the final result.

The Class C, No. 2 Scouts rolled to a 59-15 victory over visiting Malcolm by winning 11 of the 14 matches.

Third-ranked Justin White (138 pounds), Carlos Chavez, filling in for the injured Hernandez at 145 pounds, and heavyweight Jake Ingwersen all recorded first-period pins for David City, which trailed 9-6 after three matches before taking over.

Malcolm's Greg Flack beat Spencer Allen 5-0 at 160 pounds before the teams exchanged forfeits at 170 and 182 pounds to open the dual.

Clayton Harris (113), fifth-ranked Zack Barlean (120), fifth-ranked Jacson Valentine (132), James Escamilla (170) and second-ranked Matt Eilers (220) all received forfeit wins for the Scouts.

Second-ranked Noah Styskal picked up a 20-3 technical fall over Malcolm's Clayton Monroe at 126 pounds and David City's Dylan Vodicka (152) and Wayne Moore (195) were both winners by decision.

The Scouts wrestle Friday and Saturday at the High Plains Invite at Central Community College.
