Stamkos nets winner for Lightning

TAMPA, Fla. — Steven Stamkos scored the tiebreaking goal with 5:38 remaining and the Tampa Bay Lightning won their 10th consecutive home game by defeating the Minnesota Wild 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Stamkos extended his goal streak to four games and broke a 2-all tie when his close-in shot hit the post, deflected off Wild forward Ryan Hartman and slid past goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

Nikita Kucherov scored into an empty net with 16.4 seconds left, handing Minnesota its third straight loss.

Before the game, the Lightning honored Stamkos for scoring his 500th NHL goal, a feat he accomplished as part of a hat trick in Tampa Bay’s 5-2 road win against the Vancouver Canucks last week.

PENGUINS 7, PANTHESR 6 (OT): Kris Letang scored his second goal of the game with 54 seconds left in overtime to give host Pittsburgh a victory over Florida. Letang, who hadn’t played since Dec. 28 due to a lower-body injury, also added two assists for Pittsburgh. His power-play blast from above the left gave the Penguins just their fourth overtime victory of the season.

RED WINGS 3, SHARKS 2 (OT): Andrew Copp scored 25 seconds into overtime to give Detroit a home victory over San Jose. Copp banged in a rebound near the goal crease after goalie James Reimer stopped Michael Rasmussen’s shot.

KINGS 4, FLYERS 3 (OT): Kevin Fiala scored 1 minute, 9 seconds into overtime to lead Los Angeles at Philadelphia. Anze Kopitar scored two goals and Samuel Fagemo added one for the Kings.

BRUINS 4, CANADIENS 2: Patrice Bergeron broke a tie with 2:55 left and NHL-leading Boston beat host Montreal for its sixth straight victory.

DEVILS 3, GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2 (OT): Dougie Hamilton scored late to tie the game and netted a power-play goal with 1:06 left in overtime to lead New Jersey to a home victory over Vegas.

PREDATORS 2, JETS 1: Tanner Jeannot scored early in the third period and Juuse Saros made 32 saves to lead host Nashville over Winnipeg.

SABRES 5, BLUES 3: Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner each had a goal and two assists as Buffalo won at St. Louis. Alex Tuch had a goal and an assist, and Owen Power and Dylan Cozens also scored for the Sabres.
