Michigan guard Zavier Simpson (3) goes to the basket past Nebraska forward Isaiah Roby (15) during the first half of Friday's game in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Roby. Had two points, eight rebounds and five turnovers against the Bulldogs back in October. He's a different player now. Could he be the X-factor?

Weatherspoon. With his brother and Mississippi State's second-leading scorer Nick Weatherspoon likely sidelined because of injury, the 6-foot-4 guard may have to carry more of the scoring load. Nebraska held him to nine points on 4-of-13 shooting in the teams' exhibition matchup.

1. It doesn't appear freshman guard Nick Weatherspoon will play against the Huskers after suffering a scary injury against Tennessee in the SEC quarterfinals.

Weatherspoon landed hard on his hip after missing a layup early in the second half of Friday's game, and after officials didn't stop play, was inadvertently stepped on in the head and neck area by a Tennessee player.

Play was stopped for about 10 minutes as Weatherspoon was put in a neck brace and taken off the court on a stretcher.

Tests revealed no broken bones, and both CAT and CT scans came back negative. However, Weatherspoon was still experiencing pain in his right hip and neck.

2. Nebraska guard Evan Taylor is dealing with his own health issues, though not to the extent of Weatherspoon. The senior had the flu much of last week and through the weekend, and missed a handful of Nebraska's practices.

The 6-foot-5 guard said Tuesday he was good to go.

"These guys are my family. So anytime I get an opportunity to go out and do what I love with the guys that I love and the guys that I put in work with, even if it is the NIT, it's a blessing," Taylor said. "So I'm going to look forward to it and make the best of it."

3. Mississippi State lost just two home games all season, going 18-2 at Humphrey Coliseum. Auburn beat the Bulldogs 76-68 Jan. 13, and Tennessee rolled to a 76-54 victory Feb. 27. The Tennessee loss was the first of three in Mississippi State's last four games.
