District meets meant state spots were up for grabs last week and plenty of area athletes secured their spot at Burke Stadium.
The four-day meet features Class A and B on Wednesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 21, while Class C and D will compete on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23.Â
Here are three of the standout performances from the district meets.
Rocco Hageman, East Butler
The senior will be a busy man at his final high school track meet, claiming the maximum four spots out of the D-3 district meet.
Individually, Hageman won the 100-meter in 11.56 and the 200-meter in 23.58 on the track and bested the long jump field with a leap of 21 feet, three inches.
His long jump ranks among the top eight in Class D this spring.

The senior, along with Allen Wachal, Devon Prochaska and Grant Koziek - who also has four events at state, helped put down a 45.07 in the 4x100-meter to win the event.
Kamri Andel, David City
The senior was one of three Scouts and the only girl of the bunch to make it out of the B-3 district meet.
Andel went 18 feet, one-half inch in the long jump to finish runner-up. She's one of 11 jumpers in Class B to have jumped more than 18 feet this spring.
She also posted a 12.55 in the 100-meter to finish third and move on to state.
Danica Watts, Shelby-Rising City
Watts set a new school record in triple jump to earn her spot in Omaha. The senior exploded for a 36 feet, four and one-fourth inch jump to win the event. She also set the school record in the long jump (16 feet, eight and three-fourths inches), but finished third in the standings.
Watts also earned an at-large bid in the 400-meter, running a 1:01.05 to finish fourth at the district meet.
