Aliesha Meusch, an ag educator at David City High School, has completed a STEM-based Curriculum for AgriScience Education training. The Animal Health and Veterinary Science training provided a curriculum to agricultural education teachers.
Through a scholarship provided by the Nebraska FFA Foundation and funded by the Nebraska Soybean Board, Meusch is supplementing this STEM-based curriculum by using veterinary science practices as a model, focus and method for learning, according to a news release.
Through a STEM-based Curriculum for AgriScience Education, Aliesha Meusch will be teaching her students at David City High School about the field of veterinary medicine, basic skills and application of the skills.
This fall, she will be implementing this portion of the curriculum in her classroom by utilizing veterinary science practices in various segments of the Animal Health and Veterinary Science Curriculum for AgriScience Education curriculum.
Through this curriculum, Meusch will be teaching her students about the field of veterinary medicine, basic skills and application of the skills. The activities associated with the lessons will give students a hands-on experience to mirror what they could really do if they chose to enter the field of veterinary medicine.

“Attending the CASE AHVS curriculum training game me the tools to allow students to learn practical skills that they could apply in studying a career related to veterinary medicine," Meusch said. "Students will be able to learn about the field of veterinary medicine in hands-on way."
