Matt Kracl and the Kracl Funeral Chapel therapy dog Bowzer stand in front of a hearse outside of the chapel in Schuyler. Matt found Bowzer on a call after her owner passed and their family let him keep her. She works wherever Matt goes, providing comfort to families.
Jerry Kracl hasn't always been director of Kracl Funeral Chapels, he said. Once upon a time, he ran the Last Chance Bar with his father, but in 1991, after going back to school and having some work done on his back, he decided to change direction and get licensed for funeral directing and embalming.
