Applications are open for Butler County Area Foundation Fund grants. The foundation awards grants to both public and private services, with the intent to provide funding for community projects that will enhance the long-term success and quality of life in Butler County.
The grant cycle opened Sept. 1, and applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Oct. 15.
The fund is seeking applications that address strategic community development efforts that lead to population growth, job creation, wealth creation and retention, and increased leadership capacity. Efforts may include support for local entrepreneurs who are starting, growing or transitioning businesses; strategies to involve youth and attract young families; programs to develop and strengthen local leadership; building community capacity including workforce development, and educational efforts to create an awareness of the need for additional contributions to the Butler County Area Foundation Fund.

Kent Clymer speaks at a Butler County Area Foundation Fund event in 2021. The fund recently opened applications for grants for this year, with projects like Music in the Park, pigeon removal at The Thorpe and the David City Police K-9 under its belt from the last round of grants.
Recent examples include the Friends of David City's "Music in the Park" events, the David City Volunteer Fire Department's cardiac monitors, David City Police Department's K-9 unit, signage for Bridging Our Community, pigeon control at The Thorpe, a Mango Language subscription for the David City Library Foundation and restoring pavers at the Butler County Historical Society Museum.
