Shelby-Rising City football completed the first half of the season with a 38-0 win at Heartland to move to 4-0. The Huskies pulled away with a 32-point second quarter.
Huskies senior Logan Lindsley scored touchdowns on three of his five carries totaling 136 yards. Junior Jett Vrbka rushed the ball nine times for 66 yards and two touchdowns.
SRC senior Coy Vrbka recorded eight tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. Five Huskies finished with six tackles as sophomore Aaron Willis and senior Hayden Reznicek sacked the Heartland quarterback once.
Shelby-Rising City hosts East Butler on Friday.
David City
David City snapped its two-game losing streak with a 49-8 win over Newman Grove/St. Edward.
Scouts senior Cohen Denker finished with 229 total yards with two total touchdowns. Senior Daren Vodicka recorded 10 rushing attempts, 135 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomores Carter and Judd Nickolite caught one touchdown pass.

David City seniors Xavier Boss and Brayden Osantowski recorded 12 and 10 tackles, respectively. Senior Jason White recorded one sack. Carter intercepted two pass. Denker and senior Gage Horak picked off one pass.
The Scouts improve to 2-2 and they'll play at Twin River on Friday.
Aquinas
Aquinas Catholic suffered a 20-15 defeat at Raymond Central to fall to 0-4 on the season.Â
Monarchs junior Landon Pohl scored both touchdowns and finished with 59 rushing yards. Sophomore Gregory Sisco threw for 64 yards, rushed for 30 yards and kicked a 32-yard field goal.
Aquinas senior Jarin Thege led the defense with six tackles. Freshman Damon DeWispelare, sophomore Anthony Oltmer and junior Landon Pohl finished with five tackles. Junior Kalen Stouffer posted four tackles and two tackles for loss.
The Monarchs play at Arlington on Friday.
East Butler
East Butler suffered its first loss of the season at McCool Junction 32-24 in an afternoon game. Tigers junior Grant Kozisek, senior Dylan Klement and senior Rocco Hageman scored one rushing touchdown combining for 200 yards.
Tigers senior Drew Wachal posted nine tackles for the most on the team. Klement recorded five tackles and a fumble recovery.
East Butler dropped to 3-1 ahead of its game at Shelby-Rising City.
