In a remarkable display of community support, Butler County Health Foundation has surpassed its ambitious 50th Anniversary Campaign goal, raising more than $350,000 to enhance emergency care services in David City.
Campaign Success Surpasses Expectations
The Foundation's 50th Anniversary Campaign, launched in August 2023, aimed to secure $5,000 donations from 50 individuals or organizations to fund critical equipment upgrades for Butler County Health's Emergency Department. By the campaign's conclusion on December 31, 2023, the Foundation had not only met but substantially exceeded its initial $250,000 target.
As of December 16, 2024, the campaign has generated $350,150 in total contributions. Even more impressive, the Foundation surpassed its donor goal, with 58 contributors making the significant $5,000 commitment—eight more than originally anticipated.
Staff Commitment Highlights Organizational Strength
Perhaps most telling of the organization's internal strength is that Butler County Health employees themselves contributed $53,534 to the campaign. This substantial staff participation demonstrates the deep commitment of healthcare professionals to improving the services they provide daily.
Emergency Department Improvements Planned
The funds raised will directly benefit patient care through the purchase of essential emergency room equipment, including:
- Emergency room carts
- Examination lights
- Equipment carts
- Various specialized instruments and equipment
These upgrades will help ensure that Butler County Health can continue providing high-quality emergency medical care to residents throughout the region.
Recognition for Community Support
To honor the generous donors who contributed $5,000 each, a special 50th Anniversary Plaque will be installed in the hospital's main lobby. This permanent installation will recognize those whose financial support is helping to secure healthcare services for future generations.
